- Exclusive digital and printable content
- Private GoodReads group
- Exclusive discount codes
- More!
I’m finally able to provide what readers have been asking for, including my unofficial episode guide to the books on Gilmore Girls (which has been years in the making), unfiltered book reviews, and a private community of like minds that’s free of the toxicity that social media has become!
Setting this up has been the most fun I’ve had in a long time, and I’m super pumped to share it with you.
It feels like a reading rainbow! (If you know, you know.)
Why I Started Memberships on Patreon
WHY YOUR MEMBERSHIP MATTERS
- We can interact directly without the burdens of ads, algorithms, AI, and harmful social media: just a group of cozy homebodies who love books and Gilmore Girls.
- You can get more personal and private content that doesn’t fit on my public website or social media pages. Yes, this means more hot takes and behind-the-scenes scoop!
- I can focus my limited time as an independent creator on providing the content that you, my most engaged readers, want.
What You’ll Get As a Member on Patreon
What’s In It For Members?
My Patreon account offers patrons private book club community membership and exclusive digital and printable content unavailable anywhere else. You become part of a like-minded community that is not subject to ads, algorithms, AI, and other downfalls of social media and other big tech. Huzzah!
TWO WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
SHOP
- The Shop contains digital and printable content you can purchase a la carte on a one-time basis.
MEMBERS
- Membership is a subscription service in which you pledge financial support on a monthly basis in exchange for exclusive digital and printable content and community access. You also help to keep my creative work running.
What’s Patreon?
About Patreon
Patreon is a popular platform for independent creators to sell exclusive content to patrons of our work.
They provide me with all the tech to effectively offer products and memberships to you without all the hassles and expenses of building a store on my own.
I can do anything, but not everything! Patreon helps with that.
This is especially easy for patrons to support because you can automatically receive most of the content directly from me in your email inbox! No need to worry about adding something to your plate.
The Impact of Your Support
The Creative Work and Expenses You’re Helping to Fund
Your support goes towards the time and financial costs of The Literary Lifestyle’s independent content creation and management that promotes books and literacy. It also helps me create more and better content for you.
I read 100-200 books yearly, work 2000-3000 hours yearly, and spend thousands of dollars monthly promoting these initiatives. Some expenses I regularly pay include technical support, software subscriptions, email providers, graphic designers, web developers, web hosting, equipment, continuing education, marketing, web hosting, accounting, lawyers, public relations, and so many more. I also perform all behind-the-scenes tasks necessary to maintain a safe, easy-to-use, and up-to-date website. It’s a full-time business with countless running parts!
Your membership is currently funding some of my most requested work, including my unofficial guide to the books on Gilmore Girls, which is a multi-hundred hour project I’ve been working on for years. I simply couldn’t do such work at this level without your support.
Some goals for future content I’d like to work on with your support include more printable products, spreadsheets, merch, video, and audio content.
Why Your Support Matters
Book blogs like The Literary Lifestyle are vital to book marketing and reading and go far beyond content like that on social media. For example, we adhere to editorial standards (like fact-checking and hiding spoilers) and provide thorough, high-quality resources that help readers in various ways, from understanding the details in a book to book club resources, informed age ratings for parents, and more. Our goal is to provide a correct answer to whatever query you’re searching.
By supporting us, youโre not just accessing bookish content to improve your own life. Youโre also directly supporting a small, woman-owned, American business that believes in making a (very literary) difference by giving back, as well as our charitable and community involvement, such as classroom library projects and Clear the List campaigns.
Your support also indirectly supports the publishing industry, local libraries, and independent bookstores, from whom our readers get the books we recommend.
In a high-tech world moving faster into unregulated Artificial Intelligence, this is a really big deal.
remember, it’s a good day to read a book. – jules
